Why Pacers/Knicks is Still the Coolest Rivalry in Sports

There’s a legacy here. There’s a pretty obvious cleft between the Pacers and the Knicks and especially their hometowns — Indiana couldn’t be further from Manhattan, and Manhattan couldn’t be happier it couldn’t be further from Indiana. John Starks vs. Reggie Miller. Patrick Ewing vs. his Sweat Glands. Spike Lee vs. His Own Ego.

Hicks vs. Knicks.

Now, it represents something more than a couple late-game Threes. Now, it’s about the Pacers and their stifling everything against the Knicks and their ability to find ways to lose nearly anything.

Melo is great, but the Pacers may just be greater.
