J.K. Rowling’s upcoming title – her first ever adult novel – has more mystery surrounding it than a Patronus Charm. And, it’s already sold two million pre-orders online, according to England’s The List.
So, while everyone was expecting E. L. James to walk away with next year’s top-grossing author title, it may be Rowling that has something to say about it.
So, Rowling’s new book is called The Casual Vacancy. The real question, pointed out aptly by Brian Donaldson, is: “The Harry Potter author’s adult novel is a guaranteed success – but will it be any good?”
Perez Hilton gave the book’s pre-launch tour announcement an exclamation mark.
The Guardian reported that the book was withheld from foreign publishers because Rowling and her entourage were worried about piracy.
Rowling’s own press materials describe the book as “darkly comic”. Oh, so like Harry Potter?
Will you buy The Casual Vacancy?
