Jeremy Roenick has always been good for a laugh. In retirement, he’s good for an obvious strategy.
“There are 30 teams and there are some places that can’t hold teams,” he said on Thursday at a youth hockey event. “That kind of weakens the economy of the whole National Hockey League. Maybe diluting a couple of the teams and diluting a little of the talent would make it an even stronger league.
“It’s easy for me to say as a star player. (It) would never happen, but it would be better for the game.”
Wait… Jeremy Roenick is still a star player?
Of course, JR would have some idea of the places that can’t hold teams. He did play for the Phoenix Coyotes.
