LeBron James sure is a classy guy and, no, Cleveland, I don’t care if you agree.

I thought I was the only one, but I was oh, so wrong.

On Wednesday night, Steph Curry became my favourite basketball player of all time. Again. It’s happened a few times now.

In a mere matter of, like, two hours on Monday night, the words “Darnell Dockett” and “AJ McCarron’s Girlfriend” and “Brent Musberger” took on a whole new meaning in America.

For those who care about the football game, Alabama beat Notre Dame in an outright massacre, 42-14. The game was so embarrassing, it caused more damage to the Roman Catholic Church than The Borgias. It’s not even worth a column on this website, and this website sinks pretty low.

But, the story of the above mentioned Twitter Trends does.

Scribbling love notes to Justin Bieber on the memorial for Rick Rypien? Not cool, Vancouver. Not one bit.

But, threatening those who have done so with a severe shanking? That might be less cool. Less cool.

On Wednesday night, after Justin Bieber played to a whole ton load of Beliebers at Rogers Arena, a few excited teenagers – we’ll assume they were teenagers, and we’ll assume they were girls – trotted outside and began to profess their love for Robert Redford’s more feminine hair heir. They used whatever they could, and that included Sharpie-ing the memorial for former Vancouver Canucks forward Rick Rypien, who committed suicide in the summer of 2011.

Sounds pretty low, right? Probably innocent, but low, and it offended some people.

Some even threatened those who committed the vandalism with death, and the one above was particularly graphic and specific.

There are always two sides to a story. It doesn’t mean either are worth listening to.

Screw the voters. How many followers do you have?

You don’t even have to watch the DNC speeches to know what was said, or how good it was, unless you read that Michelle Obama’s speech changed the world and then saw it and thought, “Meh. It was just okay.”

All you have to know is this: Barack Obama’s speech on Thursday night peaked at 52,757 tweets per minute, shattering a political posting record that was set only two night prior, when his wife talked about family, and being a Mom, and a bunch of other wonderful stuff that was just wonderful because it was so wonderful.

But, really. 52,000 tweets a minute?

Obama’s almost as popular as Tim Tebow. A night earlier, Bill Clinton – who really did deliver a fantastic, moving, and swaying speech – treated the Internet like it was a blue dress he ejaculated on, and the Democrats tweets hit 9,000,000 total over three days.

“Barack Obama delivered a passionate defense of his record in office, and emphasized the differences between his platform and that of challenge Mitt Romney during his nomination acceptance speech delivered Thursday evening,” reported Mashable.

Obama’s most popular line, the one that delivered the 52,000 earthquake

“I’m no longer just a candidate. I’m the President.”

Soft power, indeed. Tweet.
