Blake Griffin Doesn’t Like the NBA’s New Flopping Rules
Blake Griffin isn’t a flopper. Actually, he’s a pretty hard-nosed dude, on the court at least. Blake attacks the rim like Sam Worthington attacks mythical Greek monsters.
And yet, he isn’t crazy about the NBA’s new flopping rules, which he sees as just another publicity stunt by the NBA and its upper brass. Griffin called the flopping rule a way for the league “to get more money.”

“I guess it’s good in a sense that it stops any of it from happening, but now you’re telling me if it’s Game 7 of the NBA Finals and a guy has a chance to make a play he’s going to be like ‘Well, do I want this $10,000 or do I want a championship.”
Complex Sports blogger Angel Diaz didn’t agree with Griffin’s assertion.
“Blake Griffin needs to chill and make an attempt at playing defence,” he said. “Leave the acting to the professionals.”
While Griffin’s quote may be a little off-topic, it’s no worse than Diaz’s retort. What Griffin is right about, however, is that the league wouldn’t have done this if it was for the game, or if it was really worried about the NBA’s integrity.
Yes, flopping is bad. Just like any other foul. Why doesn’t the NBA crack down on traveling? You can’t score a basket in today’s NBA with taking at least four steps every lay up.
