Preppy Sports: The Hurlingham Open, the Polo Championship of Argentina
If you weren’t aware — you weren’t — the Hurlingham Open is taking over the apparently privileged fields of Argentina. Hearing things like that reminds you that they make their own wine, too.
We can’t read anything on the event’s homepage, because of the Spanish, but a quick gaze at the Federation of International Polo reveals an inspiring quote from Sir Winston Churchill. Why was Churchill a fan of polo, you ask? Because he had to be.
“There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.”
Okay, that wasn’t about polo, but it was about horses.
