Saturday Night Live’s Impatient Winds Blow Out Abby Elliott
Another season passed, and another too-young-to-fail-just-yet Saturday Night Live stars is on her way out of 30 Rock.
NBC and its flagship sketch program (okay, the only sketch program) will be parting ways with Abby Elliott, one of the comedy world’s more underrated stars. She’s sexy, too. FYI.
The news – according to Perez Hilton – is that Elliott just didn’t bring the funny.
“The truth is, Abby didn’t provide the show with awesome original characters, like Andy Samberg and reigning queen of our hearts Kristen Wiig – who announced their departures from the cast earlier this summer.”
Perez actually managed to get through the whole post without saying, “LOLZ!“ He did, however, add a “srsly,” which apparently means “seriously.”
“The Abbster had a lazy habit of not memorizing her lines and reading cue cards on air. Srsly, did she think we wouldn’t notice that?”
Okay, so many “one of the comedy world’s more underrated stars” was a bit of a stretch, but the girl still has some appeal to her. You certainly notice when she’s on screen.
Until she does a full lap around the bend and back, you can still see her as one of Natalie Portman’s enemies in No Strings Attached. Honestly, an underrated movie.
