This Saturday-to-Tuesday swing has been a Helluva time for the WHL, specifically for the Victoria Royals and the Vancouver Giants (and, I guess, that would mean the Brandon Wheat Kings and the Moose Jaw Warriors).

Not only did the Royals send their best player (like, of all-time) to the Wheat Kings, but the Giants also shipped off their captain. Both moves were made in anticipation of Tuesday’s WHL trade deadline.

On top of that, Brendan Gallagher proved he’s a stud, a superstar, and will soon be a Hab (and he did it all in front of The Flower, whaaaaaaat?!?!). While the Giants have had pint-sized stars that never successfully made the jump (Gilbert Brule’s greatest accomplishment has been giving a ride to Bono), they’ve also had a few that have (e.g. Milan Lucic and Evander Kane).

On Saturday, Gallagher returned to the Giants after winning a Bronze Medal at the World Junior Hockey Championships. His contribution? Three goals (the hatty), and seven points.

Dece, even by our standards.
