Team Canada Too Good For Its Own Good

The next Winter Olympics are actually coming up pretty fast, in a little over two years now. Canada may have to find room for a number of newcomers who, with they way they’re playing in their first few years, are making Sidney Crosby look old…
Tyler Seguin, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Jordan Eberle, Steven Stamkos, Jeff Skinner, and Jamie Benn are all currently in the top 29 in NHL scoring right now (Swede D-man Erik Karlsson comes in at 30th), and all were too young to be in the NHL in 2010, or weren’t selected for the team. Add John Tavares, Matt Duchene, Evander Kane and Taylor Hall to that list of “too young but not anymore,” as well.
Additionally, you’ve got Patrick Sharp, Claude Giroux, Jason Spezza and James Neal in the top 30, all of whom weren’t on the team last time, and bonafide stars in Brad Richards, Martin St. Louis, Vincent Lecavalier, Milan Lucic, and Kris Letang are ready to jump in.
Seriously… Team Canada 2010 might lose to the guys who weren’t on that team in a one-off game right now…
