*Bruce Boudreau has been fired and replaced by former Capitals enforcer Dale Hunter. Personally, this saddens “us” and our editorial “team”…

Maybe I’m on an island here, but I looooooooved Bruce Boudreau, and I loved him as the head coach of the Washington Capitals.

It was the fire, the Kevin James-like movements, and “In an Open Relationship” status with the microphone.

Hey, I’ve seen Dale Hunter behind the bench plenty from my “days” in London, Ontario, and I’m sure he’ll have the same, short fuse. But, for now, let us respect Bruce for being one of those rare coaches who would give you the soundbites you needed for your Monday morning coffee.

A true talent and an underrated coach (I blame the cast of The Muppets masquerading as the Capitals offence for those countless playoff losses, by the way), who I hope will find a home soon.

What was the guy supposed to do?

Watching Boudreau coach the Caps was like watching Spielberg get a great script and then having to direct Adrian Grenier… no matter how good a job Steven does, that thing’s going straight to Netflix.

In the meantime, maybe Dale Hunter can get Alex Semin to “Pierre Turgeon” somebody. Seeing as the Caps don’t win playoff series, they have plenty of opportunities.
